Future shock: How will tomorrow’s guests change hospitality?
With the ongoing retirement of the Baby Boomer generation – once the largest, most important consumer base – a fresh stream of young professionals is already making an impact on the hospitality industry.
These include Generation Y, Millennials and Gen-Next, who are bound to take over and change the industry as we know it.
Gen Y comes with a completely different set of characteristics and interests. Some of these are being tech-savvy, consumption-oriented, craving simplicity, being internet-centric, socially diverse and brand consciousness.
These trends are already the focus of many revenue managers, general managers, and industry executives around the world.
Still, how can the hospitality industry better prepare to welcome future generations? What will the hotel guest of 2030 look like? How to strike a balance between hitting revenue targets and authenticity for tomorrow’s increasingly ethical, socially minded and maybe even sometimes vain travellers?
We are very much looking forward to meet you at our next conference.
