Stella Van Toor
4th year Student, Hotelschool the Hague
Since my earlier childhood, I have been travelling very substantially throughout Europe and in doing so I have met many people who practiced hospitality every day, mostly in hotels, restaurants, at airports and at airlines. These experiences made me realise the significance and power of hospitality. Not only as an important factor in hotel and leisure business, but also of doing business in general.
It was not only these experiences and thoughts that made me decide to pursue a study in Hospitality Management. The curriculum also suits my strengths and skills while it offers a very tangible and focused way of studying business administration around hotel management.
I am an outgoing, open-minded and creative person with a high level of flexibility and good communication skills. I have proven abilities to interact with people on all levels and from different countries with different cultural backgrounds. Experiences, which I have made since my childhood by having lived in several European countries (Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium) as well as at the International School Eerde in Ommen/NL as a boarding student.
I meanwhile have gained substantial practical experience in hospitality as a part-time employee in at the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam, Park Hyatt Zürich and as a hostess at the f.e the Frankfurter Messe. Lastly I have successfully rounded off my management Internship for the department Industry Relations & Alumni at Hotelschool The Hague. I am planning on graduating this year December and therefore looking forward to developing a career in the Hospitality Industry.
